Dr. Barbara J Dunn, DVM:

Dr. Dunn is originally from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Zoological Science from the University of Oklahoma, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Dunn owns The Family Pet Clinic in Ardmore, a practice that focuses on the health and wellbeing of cats, dogs, birds, pocket pets, and reptiles. 

She moved to Ardmore in 1989, where she was an associate veterinarian at Town and Country Animal Hospital for eight years.

In 1996, she and her husband, Dr. Doug Nightengale, founded The Family Pet Clinic. The small animal clinic on the north end of town and together they own and operate Large Animal Veterinary Services on Highway 70 in Ardmore.

She is an Ardmore Family YMCA board member, and past president. She has served as a planning commissioner for the city of Ardmore, and as a member of the Governor’s task force for the study of the impact of the fire ant on Oklahoma agriculture.

Dr. Dunn is also a former member of the Board of Admissions of Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, attending conferences and continuing education annually. In addition to her extra curricular activities she is a member of the University of Oklahoma alumni band.

Barbara and Doug have three children, Seth (married to Annie), Wil and Emma. They welcomed their first grandson (Seth and Annie Nightengale) in 2021. She and her family are active members of the First Presbyterian Church Ardmore.
